The Meigs Middle School Softball Team recently completed their season by winning the Tennessee River Valley Conference Championship, defeating Tellico 19-1 in the finals. These girls finished the season with a record of 24 wins and 2 losses. Prior to the tournament, they were regular season champs in the West Division of the conference and won the Gold Division Championship in the Jim Dodson Memorial Tournament to begin their season. Mr. Woods presented the team with a plaque for their accomplisment. The team is coached by Head Coach Jill Henry and assistant coaches Morgan Jarvis, Jeremy Jones, and Zach Henry. Team members are: #1 Acelynn Maddron, #3 Cali Armour, #7 Kayden Hawes, #10 Kinley Porter, #11 Makenna Long, #13 Carley Emery, #14 Addeline Henry, #15 Makinley Moon, #16 Willow Hopson, #23 Ava Malone, #24 Kylee Preston, #26 Maddie Williams, #28 Trinity Meadows, #29 Mattie Fowler, #30 Mollie Grubb, #32 Maddie Sewell, #33 Kenzie Norton, and #44 Brilee Harris.

Meigs Middle students with less than 10 points and no more than 1 unexcused absence for the first nine weeks were rewarded with an afternoon fun day! Students spent the sunny but cool afternoon outside playing games and jumping on inflatables.

Meigs Middle picture retake day - Thursday, October 24th . Any students having picture retakes will need a parent note. This also includes new student pictures and students who were absent on previous picture day. Basketball team and individual pictures along with basketball cheer pictures will be taken, also.

The MMS volleyball team had a great time at the Lady Vols volleyball match against Auburn this past Sunday. It was a wonderful bonding experience with the team and their families. We are excited for a new season starting in a few short months. 🧡🖤🐯

Mrs. Meadows teaches 6th grade science classes which metal is the best conductor of heat. Butter is pressed together on different metals. Heat from the candle traveled through the copper line quickest to melt the butter causing it to fall off first.
