Yesterday Mrs. White's fourth grade math students got to explore fractions in a new fun way thanks to new manipulatives provided by a Meigs County Retired Teacher grant. Thank you for supporting our students!

"The more you read, the more things you'll know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go!" This statement is so true for MSE 1st grade, Ally Henley. Ally is a student in Mrs. Ratliff's class. Mrs. Ratliff's love for learning and teaching is so evident to her students. So much so, that Ally has earned 50 A. R. Points since Christmas!! This is an AMAZING accomplishment for a 1st grade student. We are so proud of Ally AND Mrs. Ratliff!!

Meigs South is so very blessed to be a part of the Project Basic Program. This is an extra program for our K-2 population that focuses on building good character, becoming a role model student, and strategizing through all emotions. Our coordinator is Mrs. Beth Dodson. She is AWESOME!! As you can tell, our students are engaging well with her, learning a lot, and excited to participate in her activities. Thank you Mrs. Beth for ALL you do for our students!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Santa's on his way...
Christmas preparations are underway here at Meigs South! While this is a joyful time for so many, it can be very difficult for others due to financial strains.
With that being said, we are currently looking for individuals or organizations that would be willing to sponsor Christmas for our families in need. If you would like to buy for a family, please reach out to Ms. Beverly Miller, and she can get you more information. beverlymiller@meigsgschool.net or 423-334-5444. If you are interested in supporting but don't want to shop, monetary donations can be turned in to Mrs. Ginger or Ms. Carol in the office. Additionally, we can also take new/unused items like clothes, shoes, toys, and hygiene items.
Last year, we were able to help 22 MSE families (65 kids!) This year, teachers have currently submitted names for 24 families (71 kids) that need help, and those numbers are growing each day!
Thank you so much for sharing & supporting our students!

MSE spent the afternoon honoring our local VETERANS today. Our students dressed in red, white, and blue, sang patriotic songs, and cheered for these brave men and women. Our country is blessed and free because of these patriots!
